Annie is a four-arm chandelier by Generation Lighting (Feiss), distributed by Elstead Lighting. The steel frame is finished in a heavy textured white coating that resembles plaster. Four curved arms rise from a central stem and end in bobeches and candle-style lampholders, with no shades.
Size and hanging height
The chandelier spans 61 cm, the fitting itself is 55.2 cm high, and it weighs 3.2 kg. It hangs on 152.4 cm of chain, and the overall drop from the ceiling adjusts from 66 to 221.1 cm. With a 2.5 m ceiling and a 75 cm table, the lower edge usually sits 70-80 cm above the tabletop, which needs a drop of about 95-105 cm, well within the adjustment range. Compare the 61 cm span with the width of the table it will hang over.
The fitting is for indoor use. It is protection class I, so it must be connected to an earth conductor in the ceiling box.
Choosing the bulbs
The chandelier has four E14 lampholders, each for a bulb of up to 40 W; no bulbs are included, so four need to be bought. The arms are open, so the bulbs stay fully visible and candle-shaped bulbs suit it best. Elstead recommends a dimmable clear glass E14 LED candle bulb, 4 W, 400 lm, 3000 K. Four of them give about 1600 lm of warm light in total, enough to serve as the main light of a dining room.
The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs; dimming also needs a suitable dimmer.
Where Annie works
The manufacturer draws on the coastal style here: a simple form, white, and a matt texture instead of gloss. The chandelier is intended for over a dining table, for hallways and for hotel interiors.
