ARIUS L is an 80 cm garden bollard shaped as a slim, open rectangular frame, 16 cm wide and 5.5 cm deep. The aluminium and plastic housing is black, and the LED sits in the top crossbar behind a clear glass cover, shining downwards into the frame and onto the ground beside the bollard.
How much light and of what kind
The integrated LED module is included, so no bulb has to be bought. It gives warm white 3000 K light at 480 lm — enough to mark a path or the edge of a terrace, not to light a whole garden. The beam angle is 130° and the colour rendering index is above CRI 80. The manufacturer gives a maximum power of 10 W and an LED lifetime of 30,000 hours.
The bollard is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it is switched from the installation, a timer or a dusk sensor.
Installation and conditions of use
According to the manufacturer's instructions, the bollard is screwed onto a mounting plate that is fixed with two anchors into a solid base such as a concrete footing, and the 230 V supply cable is brought up from below to the terminals. Connection is therefore a job for an electrician and needs a cable laid in the ground.
The IP54 rating protects it against dust and water splashed from any direction, so it can stand in the open. Protection class II means double insulation — no earth conductor is needed.
Design and range
The plain, unornamented frame gives the bollard a modern look. It suits a garden or a terrace. The ARIUS range also includes a smaller M version, a grey variant and a wall light from the same line.
