Bazar Bizar The Whipped XL rattan pendant shade, natural, 102 cm

The Whipped XL by Bazar Bizar is a large natural rattan pendant shade with a broad body and an undulating lower edge. Seen from underneath, its outline resembles a many-petalled flower. The open weave leaves the individual strands and the spaces between them visible.

A shade rather than a complete light fitting

This article is supplied without a cable, lampholder or bulb. The manufacturer specifies compatibility with a standard E27 fitting, but a suitable cord set must be chosen separately. Cable assemblies pictured in the gallery should not be taken as evidence that they are included with this shade.

Light colour and brightness depend on the bulb and fitting selected for the finished installation. The rattan shade itself has no electrical wattage, operating voltage or fixed number of light sources. Its woven surface is also different from an enclosed, opaque cover around a bulb.

Allow space for its full width

The current manufacturer measurements are 102 × 102 cm, with a height of 87 cm. These are the shade dimensions, not the overall suspension length once a cable has been added. Before ordering, compare the width with your table or available room space and check the distance from the ceiling to the proposed lower edge.

The manufacturer suggests use above a dining table, bed or lounge area. The natural finish, handwoven texture and irregular edge suit a boho interior. With such a broad shade, consider how it will appear from the usual viewing positions as well as whether its footprint fits.

Handwoven for indoor use only

Made by hand in Indonesia, individual examples may show slight differences in colour, weave and shape. Remove dust with a soft, dry cloth or brush, and keep the shade away from excessive moisture, heat sources and direct sunlight.

It is not intended for a garden or covered terrace. The manufacturer explicitly states that any outdoor photographs are styling images only and do not indicate suitability for outdoor use.
