Aldex Flo Ruby S 7000B27_S is a compact table lamp combining a burgundy cylindrical support with a broad opal-glass shade. The rounded glass narrows towards the metal section, recalling the shape of a flower bud. The FLO collection was designed by Wojciech Błaszczyk of Sedno Studio.

Check the shade width as well as the height

The lamp stands 29 cm high and measures 19 cm in both width and depth. Its shade is 19 cm in diameter, so allow for that widest part when choosing a position rather than judging the footprint by the narrower metal support. Compare these dimensions with the clear space on your bedside cabinet, sideboard or desk.

A round foot supports the straight cylinder and the softly rounded glass above it. There is no projecting articulated arm extending across the surface. Check the available vertical clearance too, particularly if a shelf sits above the intended position. The lamp's compact outline still needs space for the full width of its shade.

Opal glass with one replaceable E14 source

The specified light source is one E14 LED bulb with a maximum wattage of 10 W. This is a bulb-selection limit, not a fixed brightness rating for the lamp. Check the chosen bulb for its colour temperature and lumen output; the burgundy finish does not determine either property.

The milky glass diffuses light and conceals a direct view of the bulb. Aldex states that FLO shades are hand-blown in a Polish glassworks. The metal support contrasts with the rounded opal form, while the deep burgundy finish distinguishes Ruby from the other colour versions in the collection.

A small sculptural light on furniture

Place Flo Ruby S on furniture in a living room, bedroom or study, selecting the bulb for the intended use. Its dimensions also make it worth considering as side lighting on a dining-room sideboard or a decorative table light in a hotel or restaurant. Its table-lamp format should not be confused with an adjustable work spotlight: this design uses a broad diffusing shade.

The simple cylinder and organic glass profile suit contemporary and modernist interiors. Its named designer, restrained construction and burgundy-and-white contrast give it a distinct identity without relying on applied ornament.
