Drive-over In-ground Light NORLYS Rena 1757ST stainless steel LED 8.3 W 4000 K

Rena 1757ST is a NORLYS in-ground luminaire set flush into the paving, with a square stainless-steel front plate 13 cm across and a round window of satin safety glass. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium and reaches 15.7 cm into the ground. NORLYS intends it as an orientation light or a spotlight in places where cars drive over it.

Where it can go and what it withstands

The manufacturer gives a maximum load of 2000 kg and allows vehicles on pneumatic tyres to drive over the fitting, which covers a driveway or the approach to a garage. NORLYS adds one explicit restriction: the fitting must not be installed in traffic lanes, where sudden braking, accelerating and changes of direction would push on it sideways.

IP68 (1 m) means it stays sealed even under water, so rainwater standing on the paving does not get in, and IK09 describes the housing's resistance to impact. The centre of the glass reaches operating temperatures within standard 60598.

How much light, and what kind

The light source is an 8 W LED module rated at 891 lm. After passing through the satin glass, 390 lm leaves the luminaire at 8.3 W, or 47 lm/W. Around 400 lm is mood-light level, so the fitting marks out a route or the edge of the paving rather than lighting the whole driveway. The light is diffused, with a 71° half-angle, and all of it goes upwards (ULOR 100 %, BUG B0-U3-G0).

4000 K is a neutral white, CRI 80 gives ordinary colour rendering, and with SDCM3 neighbouring fittings match in shade. The L70 lifetime (TM-21) exceeds 59,000 hours — more than 50 years at three hours a day.

Installation, connection and dimming

The fitting is fixed through three ø4.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø100 mm circle, into a box set per the instructions or a prepared opening in wood. The 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009 connection boxes are accessories sold separately. A 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable ending in a THB.391.R4A.L connector comes out of the fitting.

It runs on 220–240 V and is protection class I, so the circuit needs a protective earth conductor. It dims on a phase-cut TRIAC dimmer, trailing edge or leading edge. NORLYS describes the LED module as a light source the end user can replace, and offers the ZS1757zx0010 service kit as a spare part.
