Endon Burford 76550 black outdoor post light, E27, 105 cm

Endon Burford 76550 is a black outdoor post light with a glazed lantern head above a slender column. Its die-cast aluminium-alloy body has a matt finish, while clear glass panels leave the bulb visible. A shaped roof, decorative finial and flared base give this garden light a traditional, rustic character.

A lower lantern for a planned position

The complete fitting stands 105 cm high and measures 22.5 cm in diameter. This is a garden post light rather than a tall street-style lamp post. Compare those dimensions with nearby planting and the width of the passage before choosing its position. Keep the lantern visible and leave the walking route clear of the base.

It can be considered beside a garden path, at the edge of a driveway or on a terrace where a suitable solid mounting surface is available. Its lantern form suits classical, rustic and retro outdoor schemes, including the exterior grounds of a hotel or restaurant. The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water; it does not mean the fitting is fully waterproof or suitable for immersion.

Choose the bulb as well as the lantern

There is one E27 lampholder with a maximum lamp rating of 60 W. The bulb is not supplied. Endon suggests a filament LED bulb for the traditional appearance: the visible filaments can complement the clear glazing and decorative head. Because the bulb remains on view, its shape affects the appearance even when the light is switched off.

Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb selected. The 60 W limit does not establish a particular light output or coverage area. Dimming requires a dimmable bulb and compatible control; the manufacturer's dimmable designation is not evidence of a built-in dimmer.

Fixed mounting and care

The instructions require a solid mounting surface and prohibit installation directly on soil. This is not a portable garden lamp. The Class I fitting must be earthed, and the supply cable is not included. Plan its electrical connection before securing the base. Disconnect the power and allow the light to cool before cleaning with a dry cloth only. Liquid and abrasive cleaners are excluded by the instructions.
