Gallery Direct Okayama Oak and Black Steel Bedstead, 182 × 220 cm

The Gallery Direct Okayama bedstead brings together a calm contemporary Japandi influence and a clearly defined oak frame. Its overall dimensions are 182 cm wide, 220 cm deep and 83 cm high, useful figures to consider when planning the position of the bed in a bedroom. The natural oak tone is contrasted with slim black steel legs visible beneath the foot end of the frame.

A distinctive Okayama detail

The headboard is the defining feature of this model. A section of solid-oak slats runs horizontally across it, creating a light, ordered rhythm. Radius detailing follows the outer edges and gives the headboard a carefully finished outline. Oak components and oak veneers create a consistent surface, while the dark steel legs introduce a restrained graphic contrast. MDF is also used within the construction.

For a composed bedroom setting

Okayama suits an interior where natural timber is balanced with a precise metal accent rather than elaborate decoration. The open-lined headboard gives the bed a recognisable silhouette, while the visually low frame keeps the composition uncluttered. It can form the focal point of a bedroom alongside other Okayama pieces or simpler furniture in a similarly natural palette. The full frame dimensions should be compared with the available space before purchase so that there is sufficient room around the bed. This is a bedstead, allowing the rest of the sleeping arrangement to be selected separately.

In the product imagery, the frame is shown in a bedroom arrangement with low bedside units. What is visibly emphasised is the linear grain of the wood, the slatted headboard and the dark ends of the legs. This combination of surfaces works naturally with a pale wall, linen textiles or simple ceramics, while the bedstead remains legible in a more contrasting setting too. The stated 130 mm under-bed clearance is a practical dimension to consider when balancing the proportions of surrounding furniture.
