NORLYS Rimini 404WH is a 114 cm garden bollard in the shape of a classic lantern: a slim post on a square base carries a lantern with a pointed roof and a finial. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in white (RAL 9003), and the lantern panes are clear, UV-stabilised polycarbonate.
Size and installation
The bollard stands 114 cm tall and the lantern is 19 cm wide – compare that height with the planting along the path where it will stand.
The base is fixed with two screws through ø5.5 mm holes spaced 90 mm apart. For setting it in the ground, the manufacturer offers concrete anchor 307, sold separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped through (up to 2 × 1.5 mm²) to the next fitting, so several bollards along a path can run from one circuit. The EPDM cable gland seals a round cable of 7–10.5 mm in diameter, so check the outer diameter of your cable before you buy it.
Which bulb, and what light
The lantern has an E27 socket for an A55–A60 shaped bulb, and the manufacturer allows an LED source of up to 9 W. No bulb is included, so the colour and brightness depend on the lamp you choose – 2700 K is a warm, yellowish light close to a traditional bulb, and about 800 lm matches an old 60 W bulb. The panes are clear, so the bulb is visible inside the lantern and its shape becomes part of the bollard's look.
Outdoors all year round
IP54 means protection against dust and against water splashed from any direction, so the bollard can stand in the garden without a roof over it. The luminaire is protection class II, so it needs no protective earth conductor. The diffuser is available as a spare part (service kit 06404000), so damaged panes can be replaced without buying a whole new luminaire.
The manufacturer intends Rimini for gardens and terraces. The series also includes a black 404BL version and the lower Rimini 250 bollard.
