Gea Luce GES730 garden bollard light, graphite grey, IP44

The Gea Luce GES730 is a low garden bollard with a graphite-grey aluminium body and an opal polycarbonate diffuser. A dark detail extends from the top edge into the pale diffuser section, breaking up the cylindrical outline. Inside, the fitting accommodates one E27 light source.

A 30 cm fitting at path level

The bollard is 30 cm high and 9 cm in diameter. When planning lighting beside a garden path, terrace or driveway, allow for a low light position rather than the height of a conventional lamp post. Compare the dimensions with nearby planting and edging so the diffuser is not obscured. Position the body outside pedestrian routes and vehicle clearance areas.

The plain cylinder, limited detailing and contrast between the dark body and opal upper section suit modern and minimalist outdoor settings. This is not a tall street-lighting fitting intended to illuminate a roadway from above.

Choose the E27 light source to suit the scheme

GES730 accepts one E27 bulb rated at no more than 18 W. That figure is the permitted bulb limit, not a fixed power consumption for the fitting. Colour temperature and light output depend on the selected bulb, so check those details before combining several bollards. The opal polycarbonate obscures a direct view of the source through the pale diffuser surface; it does not guarantee the absence of glare in every situation.

Installation and cleaning

The manufacturer specifies outdoor installation and a 220–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply. Its Class I construction requires a correctly connected protective earth. Installation and assembly must be carried out by qualified personnel. IP44 describes protection against solid objects of 1 mm or more and splashing water, not immersion.

Disconnect the mains before any work. The instructions recommend a damp cloth with mild detergent in lukewarm water, followed by gentle drying with a soft, clean cloth. Cables and electrical components must not be exposed to water or detergent.
