The GFA1477H is a surface-mounted Gea Luce ceiling light with two cylindrical spotlights hanging beneath a rectangular bar. It is made of aluminium in a satin black finish, and the form stays minimalist: a flat bar, two smooth cylinders and nothing else.
Size and spotlight adjustment
The mounting bar is 5.5 cm wide and 2.1 cm thick, and the whole light drops 16.5 cm from the ceiling. Each spotlight is 5.5 cm in diameter and 12.8 cm long. According to the manufacturer's drawing the heads rotate through 350° and tilt from 0 to 90°, so each can be aimed separately – one at a wall or a picture, the other at a table or a passage.
The light weighs 0.88 kg and is intended for indoor use. It is protection class I, so it has to be connected to an earth conductor.
How much light it gives
Two integrated 12 W LED modules work inside, 24 W and 2062 lm in total. That is enough to serve as the main light in a smaller room or as strong directional light in a larger one. At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellowish, close to a traditional bulb, and a CRI above 90 means walls, pictures and fabrics look almost as they do in daylight.
The 38° beam gathers the light into a clear pool instead of spreading it across the whole ceiling, so the way you aim the heads really decides what in the room ends up bright.
What is in the box and how it works
The LED module and the power supply are included, so the light connects directly to 220–240 V mains and nothing else has to be bought. It is not dimmable and works on/off only, which means it is not suitable for a circuit with a dimmer. The manufacturer states a service life of 30,000 hours.
