Bollard Light NORLYS Halmstad 1489GA hot-dip galvanised LED 8.5 W 3000 K 49 cm

Halmstad 1489GA is a bollard light with a square 12 × 12 cm section, 49 cm tall, made of hot-dip galvanised steel with no paint. The head is a lantern: horizontal steel slats surround an opal PMMA diffuser, closed at the top by a flat square cap. Inside sits a built-in Philips Fortimo LED module with an electronic driver, so there is no bulb to screw in.

How much light it gives and where it goes

The fitting draws 8.5 W and shines at 3000 K, a warm white, with CRI 80. The module produces 1059 lm and 292 lm leaves the fitting. The cap shields the diffuser only from above, and between the slats the light goes sideways and partly upwards: ULOR is 47 %, so almost half of the fitting's output goes above the horizontal, and the BUG rating is B0-U3-G1. It dims on phase dimmers of both kinds, trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE). The module (L80B20 over 50,000 h) and driver are replaced by a professional service, for which Norlys offers the repair kit ZS1489zx0013.

Height, mounting and wiring

At 49 cm the bollard shines at knee height: it lights the surface right next to it and does not rise above low planting. Compare that height with the bed edge or the steps it will stand beside. The fitting weighs 8.2 kg, and 8.78 kg in its 15.5 × 15.5 × 55 cm box.

The base is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle. Ground or concreting anchors, the concrete-foundation adapter and mounting adapters are sold separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm², or 2 × 2.5 mm² when looping through, and the gland a round cable up to 12.5 mm, so one cable run feeds several bollards. Class II needs no protective earth.

Durability and where it fits

IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, so it needs no cover outdoors, and IK10 means impact resistance up to 20 J, the top of the scale. It works from −20 to +45 °C. The Halmstad suits a garden, terrace or driveway as well as a street or the grounds of a hotel or restaurant; the plain, square form with slats is a Scandinavian look.
