Hellvik 2404BL bollard light, black RAL 9005, LED 8W 3000K, 55 cm - NORLYS

Hellvik 2404BL is a bollard light shaped as an open rectangular frame in cast aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). It stands 55 cm tall and 42 cm wide but is only 11 cm thick, with the light source hidden in the top bar of the frame behind a clear PMMA lens.

Where it goes and how it is installed

At 55 cm the bollard lights the surface of a path, the edge of a terrace or a driveway rather than the faces of people walking past. The maker intends it for gardens and private grounds. The frame is 42 cm wide but only 11 cm deep, so it fits a narrow strip beside paving or along a border.

A concrete-in anchor is included. The ground spike anchor (209) and the adapter for an existing concrete foundation (209S) are ordered separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2×4 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next fitting, so several bollards along a path can run on one circuit, using round-sheathed cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor. It weighs 7.94 kg.

How much light, and what kind

The integrated Philips Fortimo LED module draws 8 W and the fitting delivers 1038 lm, more than an old 60 W bulb. 3000 K is warm white, comfortable in a garden in the evening. The head is shielded from above: only 3% of the flux goes skywards (ULOR), and the light falls down and to the sides without glare.

It can be dimmed with a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer. There is no bulb to buy. The LED module and driver can be replaced by a professional service, and Norlys stocks both as spare parts. The maker gives an LED lifetime of L90B10 over 100,000 h and 50,000 h for the driver.

Build and character

The lens is sealed and the housing gasketed with silicone, hence IP65: the bollard can stand outdoors uncovered, in rain and dust. Impact resistance IK08 matters on a driveway or path, where a fitting gets knocked now and then. The plain geometry without ornament suits Scandinavian and modern schemes, and the Hellvik series offers the same frame in taller versions.
