Laxer C0230 ceiling lamp white 5xGU10 metal Max Light

The Laxer C0230 is a ceiling light with five cylindrical shades 12 cm across, screwed straight to the ceiling with no drop. The shades are white and the arms carrying them are black and folded into a zigzag — each shade branches off that spine in a different direction. All of them are open at the bottom.

Which bulbs you have to buy

The fitting has five GU10 sockets and takes bulbs of up to 7 W each. The manufacturer states that no bulbs are supplied, so putting the lamp to work means buying five of them separately.

The brightness of the whole fitting is the sum of five sources, and what decides it is the lumen rather than the watt — for comparison, around 800 lm from one source matches the old 60 W bulb. You also choose the colour of the light when you buy the bulbs: 2700–3000 K is warm, 4000 K neutral.

How the light is spread

The five shades come in five different lengths: 13, 23, 28, 13 and 18 cm. Each is a closed cylinder, so light leaves only through the opening at the bottom — the fitting does not brighten the ceiling, it throws five separate cones downwards and sideways.

Because the arms point in different directions, those cones land in different places instead of adding up into one pool under the lamp. This is lighting that spreads light around a room in spots rather than evenly, the way an opal shade would.

Mounting and build

The fitting mounts flush to the ceiling, with no cable and no rod, which also suits rooms with little headroom. The longest shade comes 28 cm below the ceiling, and that is the figure to compare with your ceiling height and with whatever stands under the lamp.

The arms spread the shades across a fair stretch of ceiling, so the fitting occupies noticeably more area than an ordinary round ceiling light — worth measuring against the space you have over a table or a kitchen island. Everything is metal: white shades and black arms are the only two colours this lamp has, and that contrast is where its plain, undecorated modern character comes from.
