ASKER SMALL DOWN in the MD1531 version is a façade wall light shaped as a 22.5 x 11.5 x 8.5 cm block, made of powder-coated cast aluminium in cement grey (RAL 7033). The cover — clear, structured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate — sits in the underside, so the fitting throws light downwards only. A microwave motion sensor works inside the housing.

The motion sensor and its settings

The built-in MC119S microwave sensor detects movement through the housing, with no separate window, and has a dusk switch and motion hold — as long as someone keeps moving inside the detection area, the light stays on. From the factory the detection area is set to 100%, the hold time to 5 seconds and the dusk threshold to off, so the fitting responds to movement regardless of the time of day.

The manufacturer expects those three values to be set for the actual location after installation — five seconds is a starting point, not a target.

How much light it gives, and what kind

The LED module produces 773 lm and 331 lm leave the fitting, at 2700 K — warm, distinctly yellowish white close to a traditional incandescent bulb. That is a light level which marks an entrance or a stretch of wall rather than lighting a whole terrace. The colour rendering index is Ra 80 and colour consistency is within SDCM3, so several fittings side by side hold a similar white.

The upward share is 0% (ULOR 0%, BUG rating B0-U0-G0) — all the light goes below the fitting. The source is not user-replaceable; professional service does it, and the manufacturer states over 55,000 hours to a 30% drop in output. The fitting cannot be dimmed.

Mounting, supply and durability

The fitting is protection class I, so a protective earth conductor is needed; the supply is 220–240 V. It fixes through two ø4.5 mm holes at 180 x 60 mm centres, and the terminals take conductors up to 3 x 2.5 mm² and allow several fittings to be looped through with 3 x 1.5 mm² in a ø7–10.5 mm sheath.

IP65, a silicone gasket and an EPDM gland mean a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, and IK08 describes the impact resistance. The working temperature range runs from −25 °C to +60 °C. The fitting weighs 1.44 kg net.
