The PFV-50-24-B is a flat constant-voltage power supply for LED modules: it delivers 24 V DC and up to 2.08 A at the output, so 50 W. The white plastic case measures 160 × 58 × 18 mm, and the wiring goes into blue terminal blocks at both short ends — mains on one side, low-voltage output on the other.
Where it fits
Eighteen millimetres of height decides whether the driver can be hidden: at that thickness it goes into the void above a suspended ceiling or inside a furniture carcass without a recess built for it. The manufacturer classes it as an independent electronic transformer, so it may be mounted outside the luminaire with no additional enclosure.
Cooling is by free air convection — no fan, so the case needs air moving around it. The symbol on the label permits mounting directly on wooden surfaces to DIN VDE 0710-14.
What can be connected to it
The output is constant voltage and intended only for 24 V LED modules — strips, bars and profiles. The total load follows from their draw per metre: 50 W is 5 m of strip rated at 10 W/m. The output sits within SELV, safety extra-low voltage.
Brightness is set with a controller wired between the driver and the strip — on the 24 V side, not with a 230 V wall dimmer.
Mains side and protections
On the mains side it accepts 198–264 V AC at 47–63 Hz and draws 0.4 A. Typical efficiency is 85%, power factor ≥0.9, and no-load consumption stays under 0.5 W — which matters where the installation stays live around the clock.
Four protections are built in: short circuit, over current (110–140% of rated current), over voltage (120–150%) and over temperature with a 110 °C threshold. Once the cause is removed the driver restarts on its own. Working temperature runs from −20 to +45 °C, the protection class is II, and IP20 confines the installation to dry interiors.
How many units per circuit
Inrush current reaches 60 A, which is why the manufacturer states a limit of drivers per miniature circuit breaker at 230 V: 3 on a B10, 5 on a B16, 5 on a C10, 8 on a C16, 10 on a D10 and 16 on a D16. Check them before splitting a long strip run across circuits. The manufacturer gives a five-year warranty.
