LensD31-50 is a clear plastic lens for Maytoni Focus LED 5 W fittings from the Technical line. It changes the fitting's light distribution: with this lens the beam angle is 50°. The lens itself is neither a lamp nor a light source.

Which fitting it fits

The lens is 35 mm in diameter and 18 mm high, and the manufacturer intends it for Focus LED fittings rated 5 W. For the more powerful fittings in the series Maytoni offers separate lenses of larger diameter: 43 mm for the 12 W version (LensD38-50) and 55 mm for the 20 W version (LensD50-24). The series also includes 5 W lenses with other angles, for example 15° (LensD31-15), and HoneyComb anti-glare filters.

What a 50° angle gives

50° is a wide beam: from a distance of 2 m it lights a circle about 1.9 m across, and from 3 m about 2.8 m. A lens like this spreads the light over a larger area than narrow lenses such as 15°, which concentrate it on a smaller section of wall or a single object. The lens weighs 10 g.
