Lucide DOREDOS 51500/20/55 is a table lamp built around a spherical steel body with a large angled opening. Its matt terracotta exterior contrasts with a cream-coloured interior. The bulb remains visible through the opening, making the choice of light source part of the lamp's appearance.

A 20 cm sphere, without a tall stem

The lamp measures 20 cm in height, width and depth. Its round base is 8.5 cm across, but the space needed on a surface is determined by the whole body. When considering a narrow shelf or bedside table, compare the available area with the sphere's diameter rather than just the footprint of the base.

The low profile differs from a conventional table lamp with a tall stem and fabric shade. Smooth surfaces and simple geometry suit modern and minimalist arrangements; the spherical cutaway form also works with retro accents. This article number identifies the terracotta version, not the cream finish offered elsewhere in the same range.

Choose the E27 bulb separately

One replaceable E27 bulb, rated at no more than 25 W, is required. It is not supplied, so the illuminated product photographs should not be read as a complete picture of the package contents. Lucide recommends an opal bulb with warm white light. Its milky surface matters visually because the opening exposes the bulb instead of concealing it beneath a closed shade.

Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb selected. The fitting itself is non-dimmable, with no adjustable light direction. Use it as supplementary light on a side table beside a sofa or bed, or as a decorative light in a study. It is not a directional task lamp for aiming light at paperwork.

Cord-mounted switching

The 150 cm cable has a plug and an on/off switch. Check that the chosen position is within reach of a socket and leaves the switch accessible. This is an indoor lamp. Disconnect the power and allow the bulb to cool before replacement, following the manufacturer's instructions.
