Designed by Joakim Thedin, the orange Markslöjd Octa 109149 table lamp surrounds a single bulb with eight angular arms. They form an open geometric structure above a polygonal base. Instead of a continuous shade, metal faces alternate with gaps that leave the light source visible within the design.
Check the whole shape against your furniture
Octa is 27 cm high, 21 cm wide and 21 cm deep. The width refers to the complete upper structure, so positioning it beside a wall or another object requires space beyond the footprint of the base. Compare these dimensions with the available surface on a bedside table, sideboard or side table. It can serve as decorative supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom or study; the open form should not be mistaken for an adjustable task light.
The transparent PVC cable has a switch and wall plug. Choose a position with a suitable socket available and keep the switch within reach. The clear cable is visually distinct from the orange metal structure rather than continuing its solid colour.
A single visible E27 bulb
The E27 holder requires a separately chosen light source, which is not included. The manual specifies a maximum of 60 W for a traditional bulb or 10 W for an LED bulb. That rating is a compatibility limit, not a statement that the lamp always consumes 60 W regardless of the source installed.
The manufacturer photographs Octa with a larger opal bulb. Since the eight arms do not form an enclosed shade, the bulb's appearance remains part of the design. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the selected source, not the orange finish. The open structure also contributes to the pattern of light and shadow around the fitting.
Iron shaped into clear facets
The iron construction and straight folds give Octa a modern, design-led character. The orange version can be used as a single colour accent against quieter furniture finishes. For cleaning, the manufacturer recommends a soft dry cloth after switching the lamp off and allowing it to cool. Cleaning agents are not recommended because they may leave stains.
