MEDELLIN LE71322 is an outdoor wall light built from two bodies: an open square frame of black aluminium 11 cm to a side, and a smaller acrylic cube set inside it. The cube has a white opal face at the front and clear acrylic along the remaining edges, so it throws light sideways as well as forward — what shows inside the frame is a bright square outlined in black.
How much wall it takes
The body is a cube of 11 × 11 × 11 cm, so it projects from the wall exactly as far as it is tall and wide. That is a figure to compare with the width of the fence post or door frame it is meant to sit beside. The back face is solid and flat — the fitting mounts on the surface and needs no opening cut in the masonry.
How much light it gives, and whether a bulb is needed
The LED is built into the fitting: there is no lampholder, so nothing has to be bought separately and nothing can be replaced once it is spent. The manufacturer states 6 W of power draw and 420 lumens at 3000 K, warm white with a slightly yellow cast. That is close to what an old 40 W bulb gave — enough to mark an entrance, a gate or the corner of a terrace, not enough to light a whole driveway.
Outdoor conditions
An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the fitting can sit on an exposed façade and on a fence with no cover above it. The supply is ordinary 230 V. The aluminium frame is powder-coated black with a distinct fine texture, and the acrylic inside stays white and clear. The MEDELLIN family also includes a 50 cm tall version at the same wattage and output, so two formats can be combined on one wall.
