Nora 2475CS Rust-Colored LED Outdoor Wall Sconce by NORLYS

The Nora 2475CS is a square outdoor wall light from NORLYS, 13 cm to a side and 5 cm deep. The body is cast aluminium painted in a corten-steel shade, and light leaves through satin glass along the top and bottom edges of the housing. It comes from a built-in LED module at 4000 K.

How it lights

The luminaire gives 643 lm, a little less than an old 60 W bulb gave, and splits that flux two ways: the manufacturer states a ULOR of 50%, so half the light goes up and half goes down. The wall gets two symmetrical bands rather than a single circle.

The satin glass diffuses the light, so the edges of those bands stay soft. The 4000 K colour is neutral white, and the colour rendering index is Ra 80 — facade colours read clearly, though less faithfully than under Ra 90. The LED module is permanently built in: there is no socket and no replaceable lamp, and the manufacturer states 52,330 hours of operation, about 47 years at three hours a day.

Size and mounting

The 13 × 13 × 5 cm body stands 5 cm off the wall — a dimension to compare with the spot beside the door or gate where the light will go. On its own it weighs 0.90 kg.

Two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm take the fixings. The terminals accept conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and up to 5 × 1.5 mm² looped through, so further luminaires can join the same circuit without a separate box at each one; the gland takes round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The luminaire is protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor.

Operating conditions and control

IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, and IK09 corresponds to resistance to a 10 J impact. The manufacturer permits operation from −20 to +45 °C.

Dimming runs on DALI-2. That is digital control: it needs a DALI controller or gateway, and an ordinary phase dimmer will not work — a separate cost and an installation decision to price before buying. Supply is 220–240 V, with a power factor above 0.9.
