Outdoor wall light NORLYS Nora 2494CS LED 8W 3000K Corten steel IP65

Nora 2494CS is a Norlys outdoor wall light shaped as a flat, square box of die-cast aluminium, powder-coated in a Corten steel colour – a warm rusty brown close to RAL 8011. Light leaves only through the bottom edge, via a clear safety-glass pane seated on a silicone gasket.

Size and wall mounting

The light measures 13 × 13 cm and projects just 5 cm from the wall, so it fits a narrow strip of masonry beside a door or window and stays out of the way on a path. It weighs 0.85 kg. It is fixed with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm apart.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and let you loop the supply on to the next fitting with cable up to 5 × 1.5 mm², so a row of these lights along a façade can run off a single supply line. The gland accepts round-sheathed cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. This is a protection class I luminaire, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor.

What light it gives

The LED module is built in together with its driver, so there is no bulb to buy. Drawing 8 W, the light delivers 551 lm at 3000 K – warm white – with a colour rendering index of Ra 80. The entire output is directed downwards: ULOR is 0%, so no light goes up into the sky or into windows above the fitting; instead it draws a bright patch on the wall and the ground below.

The manufacturer rates the LED module at L90 above 52,600 hours and the driver at 100,000 hours. Control is designed for a DALI2 system – brightness is adjusted digitally from a DALI control installation.

For façades and for rain

IP65 means the housing is sealed against dust and water jets, so the light mounts directly on an exterior wall without a canopy. Impact resistance IK09 matters where the fitting sits low, by an entrance or a driveway.

With many fittings on one circuit, the 6.7 A inrush current counts: according to the manufacturer, a B 10 A breaker carries 46 units, a B 16 A 74 and a C 16 A 119. The plain, Scandinavian form without ornament suits modern façades.
