Nordlux Front Single 46801008 outdoor wall light, sand, GU10

Nordlux Front Single 46801008 is a sand-coloured wall light with one lamp holder, designed by Sebastian Holmbäck. Its rounded wall attachment flows into a shade that widens towards the bottom, making a continuous form without decorative arms. The body is cast aluminium, with glass listed as the fixture's secondary material.

Allow for the projection

The fitting is 15.6 cm high and 11.8 cm wide, but projects 17 cm from the wall. That last measurement matters when placing it beside a door or in a narrow passage: compare the projection with the space available before deciding on the mounting position. The shade measures 11.8 cm across, with its opening facing down rather than forwards like a spotlight.

A matte, lightly textured finish in sand RAL 075 70 10 gives a specific colour reference for coordinating the fitting with a facade. Rounded edges and the absence of ornament suit modern, minimalist and Scandinavian settings. Its compact sculptural shape offers a different approach from a traditional wall lantern.

Choose the bulb and controls

The single GU10 holder takes a separately purchased bulb rated at no more than 28 W. No light source is supplied. Brightness, colour temperature and energy consumption therefore depend on the bulb selected; the housing alone does not establish those characteristics. Choose the source to match the lighting you intend to create.

Nordlux specifies that dimming is possible with a dimmable bulb. The control equipment also needs to be compatible with that bulb. Having a replaceable GU10 source does not make every bulb dimmable. The fitting operates on a 230 V supply.

Outdoor walls and bathroom mirrors

The manufacturer approves Front Single for outdoor and bathroom use, including above a bathroom mirror. On a terrace or balcony wall it can provide local lighting; it is not a freestanding garden post. IP44 provides protection against splashing water, not immersion. Nordlux specifically lists this version as unsuitable for seaside use.

As a Class I fitting, it requires a protective earth connection. Built-in provision for parallel connection is relevant when planning an installation with several fittings. Bathroom placement must respect the applicable installation zone and local electrical requirements.
