Norlys Asker Small Down 1531WH white LED outdoor wall light, 9.4 W 2700 K, with motion sensor

Asker Small Down 1531WH is a box-shaped outdoor wall light 22.5 cm wide that projects 8.5 cm from the wall. The cast-aluminium housing is powder-coated white (RAL 9003) and closed underneath by a diffuser of clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. Norlys intends it for lighting walls, façades and architectural details.

Motion sensor

The luminaire has a built-in MC119S microwave motion sensor with a daylight switch and motion hold. From the factory it is set to the full detection area, a 5-second hold time and the daylight threshold switched off, so after installation you set the on-time and the brightness threshold to suit your own entrance or driveway. Microwave sensors also detect movement through thin barriers, so it is worth checking the range on site.

How much light it gives, and what kind

The integrated LED module draws 9.4 W and the luminaire puts out 331 lm – enough for a door, entrance steps or the stretch of wall below the fitting. The light falls downwards in a hemisphere, ULOR is 0%, and the BUG rating B0-U0-G0 means nothing shines into the sky and glare is at the lowest level of that scale. 2700 K is warm, slightly yellowish light, CRI 80 renders colours correctly, and SDCM3 keeps several fittings on one façade at the same shade.

Installation, durability and service

The light is fixed with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes spaced 180 × 60 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², a further luminaire can be looped through with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm², and the gland accepts a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is protection class I, so a protective earth is required, and the connection should be made by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer allows up to 158 of these luminaires on one B10A circuit breaker.

IP65 protects the inside against dust and water jets, and IK08 against impacts of 5 J. The manufacturer states an LED lifetime of L70 over 55,000 hours; the LED module is replaced by a professional service using the ZS11531 service kit. The light weighs 1.44 kg.
