Berlin 617WH is a round outdoor wall light, 27 cm across: the lower half is a milky diffuser and the upper half a solid visor with a horizontal rim that directs the light downwards. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in white (RAL 9003), and the diffuser is UV-stabilised milky polycarbonate.
How big it is and how it is installed
The luminaire is 27 cm in diameter and projects 14 cm from the wall, so it fits beside a front door, on a balcony or on a wall next to a path. It weighs 2 kg and is fixed through two ø4.2 mm holes spaced 155 × 40 mm. The terminals take cables up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next luminaire (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), and the gland fits cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter.
How much light and what kind
The light source is an integrated 8 W LED module rated at 880 lm; after the milky diffuser and visor, 185 lm leaves the luminaire. That is soft, diffused orientation light – enough for an entrance, a house number or steps, not for a whole driveway. 3000 K is warm white, and most of the light falls below the fitting (ULOR 9%). No bulb is needed, as the module is built in.
The luminaire is phase-dimmable, and the manufacturer allows both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) dimmers, so it works with most wall dimmers.
Protection and service
IP54 protects against dust and splashing water from any direction, and IK10 impact resistance matters at an entrance at hand height. The LED module is replaced by a professional service; the manufacturer gives an L70 lifetime above 59,000 h. The same wall light is also made in black as Berlin 617BL.
