NORLYS Borg 6170CS rust-coloured LED bollard 16 W 3000 K 55 cm

NORLYS Borg 6170CS is a 55 cm outdoor LED bollard with a circular head above a narrow vertical body. The CS variant has a rust-coloured finish described by the manufacturer as Corten Steel. Its housing is actually powder-coated cast aluminium, not weathering steel, and the optical assembly includes a satin PMMA cover.

Light around the bollard

Rotationally symmetrical light distribution illuminates the surroundings of the mounting point rather than acting as a one-directional spotlight. NORLYS specifies gardens and other private and public outdoor areas. The low bollard can be considered when planning lighting along a terrace edge, driveway or park path, with the fixture positioned outside the walking route itself.

The 3000 K colour temperature provides warm white light. Output from the complete luminaire is 1358 lm, whereas the LED source alone is rated at 2093 lm. These are different measurements: use the luminaire figure when comparing the light delivered by complete fittings. The upward light output ratio, ULOR, is 0%, so placement should be planned around illumination at a lower level rather than light projected into the sky.

Dimensions and installation requirements

Overall dimensions are 20 × 20 × 55 cm. Compare them with the available border width and space around plants before choosing the installation point. The restrained geometric form suits modern and minimalist garden layouts. The rust colour describes the finish; it does not mean that the aluminium housing is corroding.

Borg is a permanently installed mains fitting for 220–240 V, not a portable indoor floor lamp. Installation requires a qualified electrician following the supplied instructions. Mounting accessories, including the concrete-foundation adapter and anchors, are sold separately and should be selected for the intended support.

Dimming and LED servicing

The LED module and electronic power supply are integrated into the 16 W luminaire. Its technical sheet specifies TRIAC phase dimming with both trailing-edge and leading-edge control, so the control equipment must suit that technology. No screw-base bulb needs to be added. Replacement of the light source and control gear is professional service work rather than an ordinary bulb change. IP65 ingress protection and IK08 impact resistance are specified for this variant.
