NORLYS Grimstad 1538GR recessed wall light, graphite, LED 4000 K

The NORLYS Grimstad 1538GR is a rectangular recessed wall light with a graphite RAL 7016 frame and milky safety glass. Its aluminium housing sits inside a prepared recess, leaving the framed light panel visible at the surface. The simple flat shape suits modern facades and boundary walls alongside passageways.

A recess rather than a surface fixing

The front is 26.5 cm wide and 12 cm high, while the fitting's overall depth is 12 cm. Check the available space within the wall before ordering. This is a built-in fitting that requires a suitably prepared opening.

The manufacturer specifies an opening of 258 × 112 × 115 mm for recessing into a wall, and 235 × 96 × 82 mm for mounting in a layered wall. Select the appropriate preparation method according to the wall construction and installation instructions. The dimensions of the front do not replace the required opening dimensions.

Neutral light beside steps and passageways

The 1538GR version emits neutral white light at 4000 K. The milky glass diffuses the light; this version has no horizontal louvred cover. The manufacturer specifies stairs, steps, stairwells and passageways as intended uses, so it can form part of lighting planned along a pedestrian route.

The complete fitting delivers 280 lm while drawing 5.8 W. This figure describes the light after passing through the cover, rather than the LED module's own flux. The module and driver are included; the location and spacing of fittings should be selected for the area being illuminated.

Dimming and access for servicing

Grimstad supports trailing-edge phase dimming. If brightness control is required, choose an external dimmer suited to this method. The LED and control gear can be replaced by a professional service, so access to the installed fitting should be considered during planning.

The housing is IP65 and protection class I, requiring a protective earth connection. The terminals accept conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², with loop-through connections up to 3 × 1.5 mm². The round connecting cable should have an outside diameter of 7–10.5 mm.
