NORLYS Hitra 2460GR outdoor ceiling light, graphite RAL 7016, LED 14.5 W 3000 K, DALI2, IP65

Hitra 2460GR is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a low 13 × 13 cm cube, with a body of cast aluminium powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016). Underneath is a round diffuser of satin safety glass, behind which sits an integrated LED module.

Size and mounting

At only 6 cm tall, the light takes up little room under a porch roof, a soffit or the ceiling of a carport. The manufacturer intends it for horizontal surfaces; it is fixed with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm. It weighs 1.08 kg.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and when fittings are looped together, with the supply passed on to the next one, the cable can be up to 5 × 1.5 mm². The gland takes cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to protective earth. The manufacturer allows 46 of these lights on one B 10 A breaker and 74 on B 16 A.

Light and control

The LED module produces 2071 lm, and 1063 lm leave the fitting at 14.5 W — roughly what an old 75 W bulb gave, and enough to light an entrance or part of a terrace. 3000 K is warm white, and SDCM3 means several lights side by side shine in practically the same tint. The light falls symmetrically downwards with nothing emitted upwards (ULOR 0%), so it does not brighten the night sky.

It has a DALI driver and DALI-2 control: it is dimmed from a DALI installation, not with an ordinary wall dimmer. The module is rated for over 102,000 hours before its output drops by 20%, and the driver for 100,000 hours. Module and driver are replaced only by a professional service, for which the manufacturer offers separate service kits, ZN2460 (LED) and ZS2460 (driver).

Where it fits

IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 means the housing withstands a 20 J impact, the top class on that scale. That makes it suitable above a terrace, in a gazebo or under the eaves along a facade, including places where it is easily knocked. The angular, unadorned form and matt graphite suit modern, minimalist architecture, Scandinavian-style houses included.
