NORLYS Kisa Head 5170GR graphite LED post-top luminaire 8.8 W 3000 K IP65

Kisa Head 5170GR is a post-top luminaire shaped as a slender cylinder 90 cm tall. A vertical, rounded window with a satin PMMA diffuser is cut into the upper part of the body, and that is where the light comes out. The extruded aluminium body is powder-coated in graphite (RAL 7016).

Dimensions, mounting and connection

The luminaire is 90 cm tall and 12 cm in diameter, and weighs 5.9 kg, or 6.3 kg packed, in a 16 × 16 × 93 cm carton. It is mounted following the enclosed instructions, and any other accessories are bought separately.

The supply cable is connected in a sealed IP68 junction box with terminals for up to 3 × 4 mm². The same terminals allow loop-through wiring to further luminaires, and the cable entry takes round cable 4–14 mm in diameter. The luminaire is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth; installation and service are for a qualified electrician.

What light it gives

The light is one-sided and diffuse: it leaves on one side through the satin diffuser, without a hard spot. Half of the flux goes above the luminaire's level (ULOR 50 %, BUG rating B1-U3-G1), so Kisa lights its surroundings and is itself a visible point of light, rather than a lamp that only throws light onto the ground.

The luminaire draws 8.8 W and delivers 706 lm, i.e. 80.2 lm/W. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 renders the colours of plants and façades well. Flicker values of Pst ≤ 0.3 and SVM ≤ 0.7 mean light without visible flicker. It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, either trailing-edge or leading-edge.

Durability and service

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the luminaire stands uncovered in rain and snow. IK08 stands for high impact resistance. It operates from −20 to +45 °C.

The LED modules keep at least 90 % of their flux for more than 64,000 h (L90B10), and the Philips Xitanium driver is rated for 50,000 h. The source and driver are replaced by a professional service. Kisa is designed for gardens, private grounds and public areas – it suits a park or the surroundings of a hotel or restaurant. The same luminaire in 4000 K is model 5171, and 5170 also comes in light grey RAL 9006 (5170AL).
