Moss 6164BL is an outdoor wall and ceiling spotlight: a round base, a curved arm and a cylindrical head 8 cm in diameter, closed with clear safety glass. The body is cast aluminium with a black powder coat (RAL 9005). The head turns and also tilts vertically, so the light can be aimed exactly where it is needed.
Size and mounting
The spotlight projects 13.2 cm from the wall or ceiling, and the head alone is 8 cm across, so on a facade, a pergola post or under the eaves it barely shows. It is fixed with two screws through oval 5 × 10 mm holes spaced 40 mm apart. It weighs 0.4 kg.
The supply is connected with a 3M Scotchlok 316IR connector, which joins two or three conductors of 0.5–1.5 mm² without stripping the insulation. It is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to protective earth. The manufacturer sells clamps, the 6729 mounting adapter and the 145 junction box separately.
Light and dimming
The integrated 8 W LED module produces 891 lm, and 752 lm leave the spotlight at 8.3 W. The beam angle is 36°: from 3 m away the pool of light is about 2.2 m across, enough to pick out a tree trunk, a shrub in a planter or a section of wall. 4000 K is neutral white, cooler than typical warm household light, and CRI 80 renders colours correctly.
The spotlight works with a phase dimmer, both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) types. The module is rated for 59,000 hours before its output drops by 30%, which is over 50 years at three hours a day. The LED module may only be replaced by a professional service.
Where it fits
IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the spotlight can work on an open wall, a post or under a terrace roof. IK06 means it withstands a 1 J impact. The manufacturer intends Moss for lighting gardens, private grounds and architectural details: plants, facades, fences, balconies or a gazebo. The plain form without ornament suits modern, minimalist buildings.
