NORLYS Moss 6346ST Recessed Wall Light Stainless Steel LED 4.2 W 3000 K IP65

Moss 6346ST is a Norlys recessed wall light with a round brushed stainless steel front plate, 120 mm across. In the middle sits a black tilting head with a honeycomb-textured reflector behind clear safety glass. The housing behind the front is powder-coated cast aluminium.

How it is installed

The fitting is 70 mm deep and screw-fixed: the clamps are tightened from the front with a hex key and grip a panel or wall 0.5 to 40 mm thick. The manufacturer's datasheet gives a 110 mm cut-out and an 85 mm recess depth, while the installation manual gives a 111 mm cut-out and at least 90 mm from the wall face to whatever is behind it, so it is safer to plan the recess to the larger figure. The Moss range also includes spring-clip versions with a 130 mm front; this one is the screw-fixed version.

The fitting comes with 0.3 m of H05RN-F 3G1 cable, which the manual says is connected to the supply in a separate IP65 junction box. The Norlys junction box (index 145) is sold separately. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs an earth connection.

How much light, and what kind

The integrated LED module runs directly on 230 V mains, so no separate driver is needed. The fitting draws 4.2 W and gives 382 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. The beam is symmetric at 36°: from 2 m away it lights a spot about 1.45 m across, from 3 m about 2.2 m. This is accent lighting, not lighting for a whole yard. Once installed, the head tilts by ±20° to move the spot. Colour rendering is Ra 80.

It dims on a phase dimmer, and the manufacturer allows both leading-edge (LE) and trailing-edge (TE) types. The LED module is included, but only a Norlys service can replace it. The manufacturer rates it at L70 59,000 hours, the point at which the module still gives 70% of its original light output.

Where it fits

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so it can work in an exterior wall with no canopy over it. Norlys intends it for gardens, private grounds and architectural details – on a house facade, in the garden, and at hotels or restaurants.
