NORLYS Nidaros 2127GR outdoor ceiling light, graphite, LED 7.9 W 2700 K

The Nidaros 2127GR is an outdoor ceiling light shaped as a cylinder 12 cm in diameter and 18 cm high, cast in aluminium and powder-coated graphite RAL 7016. A clear safety-glass lens closes the underside. It fixes to a ceiling, canopy or any other horizontal surface through two mounting holes.

How much light it gives

The LED module and driver are built into the fitting, so there is no bulb to buy. It draws 7.9 W and delivers 753 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional incandescent bulb. The output is concentrated in a 24° beam pointing straight down, so the light picks out a pool beneath the fitting, such as a doorstep or part of a terrace, rather than lighting the whole area evenly.

The manufacturer states ULOR 0% and a BUG rating of B1-U1-G0: no light leaves the fitting above the horizontal. That matters when there are bedroom windows above the canopy, or when you want to keep light out of the night sky.

Dimming and wiring

The fitting is phase-dimmable (TRIAC) with both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers, so it works with either type of dimmer found in home installations.

It is a protection class I luminaire and must be connected to the protective earth conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the gland accepts a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. Further fittings can be looped through with up to 1.5 mm² wire, so several units under one eave run off a single supply line. The 3084XX0009 spacer accessory is sold separately.

Where it fits

IP65 allows the light to be mounted outdoors without extra shelter, and IK06 means it withstands light impacts. The manufacturer designed it to light walls and facades from horizontal surfaces, which in practice means under a terrace roof, on a gazebo ceiling or in the eaves above a facade. The plain tube with no ornament suits modern architecture. The manufacturer rates the LED module at over 50,000 h (L70) and the driver at 50,000 h.
