The Nowodvorski EYE TONE 8087 is a surface-mounted ceiling light made of two joined cylinders. The body is black lacquered steel, and the inside of each tube is gold, visible when you look up at the light. It fixes directly to the ceiling with no suspension.
Dimensions and installation
On the ceiling it takes up an 18 Γ 9 cm footprint and projects 13 cm below it. It weighs 0.94 kg. As a surface-mounted fitting it needs no cavity in the ceiling, so it can go where there is no suspended ceiling for recessed lights. The maker lists the fitting and its instructions as the package contents; a mounting kit is not on that list.
It is a protection class I luminaire and needs a protective earth connection. The maker intends it for indoor use only.
Which bulbs and how much light
Each cylinder has a GU10 lampholder for an LED lamp in the R50 format, meaning a 50 mm face, of up to 10 W. The maker allows LED sources only. Wider ES111 reflector lamps will not fit the tube. No bulbs are included, so you need to buy two.
The lamps sit deep inside the tubes, so the light falls downwards rather than to the sides. Both lampholders belong to one lighting section and switch on together from a single switch. Light colour depends on the bulbs you choose: 2700β3000 K is warm, slightly yellowish light, and 4000 K is neutral white.
Style and where it fits
The maker classes EYE TONE as glamour style: a matt black body paired with a gold interior. The form itself is modern, two plain cylinders with no ornament. The light is intended for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and studies, as well as hotels and restaurants. The EYE TONE series also includes white versions.
