NORLYS Bologna 361BL Outdoor Globe Wall Lamp Black E27 IP54

The Bologna 361BL is an outdoor wall light with a milky globe diffuser 25 cm across, set in an openwork cast basket. The globe sits above an upward-pointing arm braced underneath by a curved support, with a turned finial hanging below the holder. The body is cast aluminium, powder-coated black (RAL 9005), and the globe is milky PMMA.

Size and mounting

The fitting is 48.5 cm high and projects 34.5 cm from the wall – the second figure is the one to check against the space by a door, a window or under the eaves. It weighs 1.8 kg. The base is screwed on through four ø5 mm holes on a 25 × 140 mm pattern, the terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and an EPDM gland seals a round cable 5–12 mm in diameter. The maker allows mounting on the corner of a building, which needs corner bracket 152XX0009, sold separately.

Light source

Inside is one E27 lampholder for an A55–A60 shaped lamp, with a 9 W limit for an LED source. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness with the lamp and change it yourself. As an example the maker names an 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K LED lamp – the brightness of an old 60 W bulb in a warm, yellowish white. The milky globe diffuses the light, so the bright point of the bulb is not visible. Dimming depends on a dimmable lamp and a dimmer, as the fitting has no driver of its own.

Outdoors

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashed from any direction, and a silicone gasket seals the fitting. Protection class II means insulation that needs no earth conductor. The maker describes the Bologna as a wall light of classic design – the globe on its basket, the curved brace and the finial give it the form of a traditional facade lantern.
