Bologna 310WH is a classic-style outdoor wall light: a clear PMMA globe 25 cm in diameter hangs beneath a curved arm topped with a decorative finial. The wall plate, the arm and the openwork globe holder are cast aluminium, powder-coated white (RAL 9003).
Size and installation
The lamp is 40 cm tall, of which the wall plate takes up 23 cm, and projects 34.5 cm from the wall — compare that with the width of the path below or with a door leaf that opens next to it. It weighs 1.8 kg and is fixed through four ø5 mm holes spaced 25 × 140 mm.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and an EPDM gland seals a round cable 5–12 mm in diameter. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no protective earth. The manufacturer also allows mounting on the corner of a building, which requires the 152XX0009 corner bracket, sold separately.
Which bulb and what light
The lamp has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 LED bulb of up to 9 W, so a wider decorative bulb will not fit. The bulb is not included and is replaced by the user. The manufacturer states that the fitting can be ordered with a Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K (dimmable), which gives a warm, yellowish light as bright as an old 60 W incandescent.
The globe is clear, so the bulb stays visible and the light spreads widely around the fitting with no shielding. Colour and brightness depend on the bulb you choose.
Durability and use
IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the lamp can hang on a facade exposed to rain. A silicone gasket seals the fitting, and the globe is available as a spare part. The lamp is intended for the facade of a house and for lighting the grounds around it, as well as for hotel and restaurant entrances.
