Bologna 315BL is a bollard light in a classic form: a slim black post 117.5 cm tall topped with an opal globe 25 cm in diameter, held in an openwork ring. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium (RAL 9005) and the diffuser is opal PMMA.
What light it gives and what to buy
The opal globe diffuses light in every direction, so the bollard lights the path and its surroundings without a glaring point source. The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 shaped lamp of up to 9 W (LED) – a larger decorative bulb will not fit under the globe. The bulb is not included. The manufacturer designed the fitting around an 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K LED lamp – the brightness of an old 60 W bulb and a warm, yellowish light; the lamp is replaced by the user.
Where to place it and how to install it
The manufacturer intends the bollard for gardens and terraces. The globe shines from 117.5 cm – higher than a typical low path bollard – so one fitting covers a larger stretch of path or terrace. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, enough for standing in open ground.
The base is fixed through two ø5.5 mm holes 90 mm apart. For setting it in the ground the manufacturer offers a concrete anchor (index 307), sold separately. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped through to the next fitting, and the gland suits a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter – several bollards along one path can run from a single line.
Construction
It is a protection class II fitting, so it needs no protective earth conductor. The bollard weighs 3.85 kg. The globe is available as a spare part (service kit), so a cracked globe does not mean replacing the whole fitting.
