Bologna 311BL outdoor wall light with opal globe, black, E27 NORLYS

Bologna 311BL is an outdoor wall light in a classic lantern form: an opal globe hanging beneath an ornate arm, held in a black ribbed crown topped with a finial. The body and arm are powder-coated cast aluminium in black (RAL 9005), and the globe is opal PMMA plastic.

Size and wall mounting

The fitting is 40 cm tall and projects 34.5 cm from the wall, with a 25 cm globe — figures to compare with the width of the door or recess it will hang beside and with the headroom of people walking past. The backplate is fixed with four screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 25 × 140 mm apart. The manufacturer also allows mounting on a building corner, using the 152 corner bracket sold separately.

A supply cable of 5–12 mm outer diameter enters through a gland to terminals that take conductors up to 2.5 mm². The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor.

Bulb and light

The light has an E27 socket and no bulb is included. It takes an A55–A60 shaped lamp — a bigger bulb will not fit inside the globe — of up to 9 W in LED technology. As an example the manufacturer names the Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K, a warm light as bright as an old 60 W bulb; that lamp is dimmable, so with a suitable dimmer the wall light can be dimmed too.

The opal globe spreads light in every direction and hides the bulb itself, so the fitting does not dazzle someone standing at the door. IP54 means protection against dust and water splashed from any direction, so the light can hang on a facade without a canopy.
