The GENOA 170BL is an outdoor wall light shaped as half a lantern: a six-sided body in powder-coated black cast aluminium, closed by a domed cap and finished at the bottom with a profiled foot. The back is flat and sits against the wall, and the clear polycarbonate glazing leaves the inside of the fitting on view.
How big it is and how far it stands out
The fitting is 41 cm high, 18 cm wide and stands 13 cm out from the wall. That last figure decides where it can go: 13 cm is little enough to sit beside a front door and above a narrow step, and enough that in a doorway-width passage it has to hang above shoulder height.
Compare the 41 cm height with your door or with the pier it is to hang on — this is a fitting at the scale of an entrance, not a marker beside a gate. It weighs 1.75 kg.
Which bulb you have to buy
The fitting takes one E27 bulb and none is included. The manufacturer restricts the envelope to A55–A60, the classic pear shape — a wider decorative globe or a long candle will not fit between the panes. The maximum rating for an LED bulb is 9 W.
The polycarbonate is clear rather than opal, so the bulb is visible from outside and its looks are part of the result. The manufacturer names a dimmable E27 LED of 806 lm at 2700 K as the recommended source — warm, slightly yellow light at the brightness of an old 60 W incandescent, and a sensible starting point for your own choice.
Fitting and wiring
The light is fixed with two screws through ø5.5 mm holes 80 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 2 x 2.5 mm², and the EPDM gland is made for round cable between 7 and 10.5 mm in diameter — a figure worth checking against the existing wiring before you buy.
Protection class II removes the need for an earth conductor, which simplifies a replacement on older facade wiring.
Where it can hang
IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, so the fitting suits an exposed wall, not only a spot under an eave. The manufacturer intends it for terraces, entrances and gazebos, and the polycarbonate cover is UV-stabilised, which counts on a wall in sun all day.
