Outdoor Wall Light Norlys Karlstad E27 IP55 Gold Patina 230BD

Karlstad 230 is an outdoor wall light in the barn-lantern shape: a conical shade hung from a curved gooseneck arm, with a clear polycarbonate cylinder below it and an exposed E27 lamp inside. The body combines hot-dip galvanised steel, powder-painted steel and natural copper, finished in a patinated gold.

How it is fitted and what comes in the box

The mounting box is supplied with the luminaire, so it screws to the wall without buying extra hardware. The terminal block takes conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and up to 2 × 1.5 mm² for looping through — the supply can run from one fitting to the next along a facade without a separate junction box between them. The gland is sized for round insulated cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter.

The whole fitting weighs 1.47 kg. For mounting on the corner of a building the manufacturer offers a separate corner bracket, index 153XX0009; it is not in the box and is bought separately.

Which lamp you have to buy

The fitting has one E27 socket and takes LED lamps of up to 9 W. No lamp is supplied, and it is replaced by the end user without a service call. The manufacturer names the Philips Master LEDbulb 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K in the dimmable version: 806 lm is roughly what the old 60 W bulb gave, and 2700 K is a warm, slightly yellow light.

The lamp sits inside the clear cylinder and is visible in full, so its shape is part of how the light looks — a decorative retro bulb changes the effect here more than it would behind an opal shade.

What it withstands outdoors

IP55 means protection against dust and against water jets, so the fitting can hang on an unsheltered wall. The IK09 impact rating corresponds to a 10 J blow — the figure that matters where the lamp hangs low and within reach, by a gate or a front door.

The manufacturer states an operating range of −20 to +45 °C, so the lamp stays on the wall through the winter. It is a class II fitting, which means no protective earth conductor is needed. The cylinder is UV-stabilised polycarbonate and the cable gland is EPDM; the shade itself is available separately as service part 06240000.
