Outdoor wall light NORLYS Nora 2496CS LED 8W 4000K Corten steel IP65

The Nora 2496CS is a Norlys outdoor wall light shaped as a flat square box of cast aluminium — 13 × 13 cm on the wall and 5 cm deep. The body is finished in a Corten-steel tone, matt and rust-brown, and the light leaves only along the bottom edge, through a clear pane sealed with a silicone gasket.

How it fixes and wires

The fitting screws to two ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm — that rectangle is what you mark out and drill. The box takes 13 × 13 cm of wall and stands 5 cm proud, so it fits beside a door frame, and it weighs 0.85 kg.

The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow the next fitting to be looped through on up to 5 × 1.5 mm², so a row of these along a facade runs on one supply line. The cable should have a round sheath 7–10.5 mm across. It is a class I fitting, so the circuit needs an earth conductor.

How much light it gives, and which way

At 8 W the fitting puts out 585 lm, which is 73.1 lm per watt. All of it goes downwards — the upward light output ratio is 0%, so nothing escapes to the sky or into windows above, and a distinct band appears on the wall below.

The colour is 4000 K, neutral white with no yellow cast, at a colour rendering of Ra 80. The light source is built in, so you buy no bulb separately, and the maker rates its life at 52,330 hours — about 47 years at three hours a day.

Control and weather resistance

Dimming is over DALI2 only. That is a digital bus, so a DALI gateway or controller is needed; on an ordinary phase dimmer this fitting will not work. Without such an installation it runs at full output.

IP65 means fully dust-tight and proof against a water jet from a nozzle, and IK09 means it withstands a 10 J impact — which matters at a passage and at a driveway. The maker allows operation from −20 to +45 °C. The rust tone is powder coating on cast aluminium, not actual Corten steel.
