NUMINOS GIMBLE XL 1006046 is a large recessed ceiling downlight from SLV with a moving module: the reflector rotates on its axis and tilts, so the beam can be aimed exactly where it is needed. The white housing conceals a chrome mirror reflector that becomes a visible part of the fitting once the module is swung out.

The LED module draws 37.4 W and delivers 3400 lumens at a warm 2700 K. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means faithful colour – the level that merchandise displays, wood, textiles and textured wall surfaces demand. The half-peak beam angle is 55°, a wide accent beam, and UGR ≤ 22 keeps glare under control when the fittings are run in rows above a working area. Rated life is 50,000 hours, photobiological risk group RG1.

A separate LED driver is required

The fitting is protection class III and runs on safety extra-low voltage: it needs an external constant-current driver of 1000 or 1050 mA, which is not supplied. The driver is chosen according to the number of fittings on the circuit and the control method – SLV's range includes 40 W multi-mA drivers, 28–40 W 1000 mA phase-dimmable units and 4.2–50 W 1050 mA DALI drivers, plus Casambi and Zigbee radio modules for wireless control.

Installation and finish

The cut-out is round, 17.5 cm in diameter, and the recess depth is 13.5 cm – plan the void above a suspended ceiling accordingly. The visible flange measures 19 cm across and projects only 3 mm below the ceiling plane, so the fitting reads as a flat ring. The body is aluminium and the optical component polycarbonate. For larger openings SLV offers 240/180 mm reducing rings in round and angled versions, and the beam character can be changed with a frosted, prismatic, elliptical or honeycomb diffuser.
