Recessed LED Panel V-TAC VT-6164 Diamond-in-Square 64W 6720 lm 6500K 595x595 mm White

The V-TAC VT-6164 is a recessed LED panel in the 595 x 595 mm format, 15 mm thick, built from white aluminium. Its lit profiles form a square outline with a diamond set inside it - hence the Diamond-in-Square designation. The light therefore comes from a drawing of lines, not from one flat milky sheet as in a plain grid panel.

Where the panel fits

The 595 x 595 mm format is meant for modular ceilings on a 600 x 600 mm grid: the fitting takes one cell of the framework, in place of an infill tile. The body is 15 mm deep, so the fitting itself needs very little room above the ceiling - the space to plan for is mainly the driver and the wiring.

The complete fitting weighs 1.4 kg, and the stated working range of -20 to +45 °C covers unheated rooms as well. It is intended for dry interiors.

How much light it gives

The panel delivers 6720 lm for 64 W, which works out at 105 lm/W. That is a main-lighting output: one fitting lights the area it is mounted over, without desk lamps underneath.

At 6500 K the light is cool, distinctly white with a bluish cast: the colour used where people work rather than where they relax. The beam spreads at 110°, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 matches the level normally accepted for general lighting in working rooms.

Power, control and service life

The fitting runs on an external LIFUD driver, which the manufacturer names in the model designation. It works at 220-240 V and 50/60 Hz, with a power factor above 0.9. The energy efficiency class is F.

The panel cannot be dimmed - the manufacturer states that it does not work with a dimmer, so control comes down to the wall switch. The LED is permanently built in: there is no cap and no replaceable lamp, and once the diodes are spent the whole panel is replaced. The manufacturer declares 30,000 hours of operation - roughly 27 years at three hours a day - and more than 15,000 on/off cycles.

Which interiors it is for

The 600 x 600 mm grid format and the cool light colour point this fitting towards offices and office buildings, corridors and shops. The form is modern and openly geometric: a flat white structure with no ornament, whose whole drawing is a diamond inscribed in a square - not the smooth sheet of a plain grid panel.
