A white L-connector for the Rendl EUTRAC 3-circuit track (R11326). It joins two track sections at a right angle and can also serve as the point where 230 V power is fed into the whole run. This is the inner-polarity version.

Inner polarity – what it means when ordering

A 3-circuit track carries its protective earth conductor along one of its edges, so a corner in the run can have that conductor on the inside or on the outside of the bend. An inner-polarity connector fits only the first arrangement – the second needs the outer-polarity version. Before ordering, check on the layout plan or on the track already installed which side of the corner the earth conductor ends up on.

Corner and feed-in in one part

The manufacturer lists this connector as a part with a feed-in option, so the cables from the mains installation can be connected right at the corner instead of adding a separate track feed to the run. The maximum load is 16 A – that limit covers the whole section supplied through this point, which at 230 V comes to about 3.6 kW in total for every luminaire on the run.

A 3-circuit track carries three independent circuits, and each luminaire is assigned to one of them by its adapter. That lets three groups of fittings on one run be switched separately – the connector carries all three circuits round the corner.

Dimensions and system compatibility

Each arm of the connector is 7.8 cm long and the part is 3.3 cm high, so the corner sits barely proud of the track itself. It weighs 160 g. It fits only tracks and components of the EUTRAC 3-circuit (Eurostandard) system for 230 V. Rendl makes the same connector in black (R11327) and silver-grey (R11328) as well – the white one is the match for a white track and a light ceiling.
