Quintiesse Rene wall light, 1×E14, distressed brass

Rene from the Quintiesse range pairs overlapping clear pressed-glass discs with steel components in a distressed brass finish. The glass has a radiating texture, while a single lamp holder sits in front of the layers on a curved arm. Unlike a wall light with a closed shade, this arrangement leaves the bulb visible as part of the design.

Pressed glass with a warm metal contrast

The brass-coloured components stand out against the clear discs. Brass describes the finish rather than a solid-brass body: the manufacturer specifies steel and clear pressed glass as the construction materials. The textured glass and deliberately aged metal appearance are therefore central to this particular version, not details to confuse with a polished brass fitting.

The layered circular design bridges glamour and modern classic interiors. Rene can be considered for decorative supplementary lighting in a living room, dining room or bedroom, or on a hallway or study wall. Its fixed curved arm is not a directional task-lighting arm for aiming light at a work surface.

Allow for the whole fitting

The wall light measures 30 cm high and 25.4 cm wide, with a projection of 10.2 cm. Compare those dimensions with the available wall area, neighbouring furniture and the opening path of any nearby door. The overall height includes the lower curve of the arm, not just the glass disc. The manufacturer specifies interior use; this is not a garden wall fitting.

Choose the E14 bulb separately

Rene takes one E14 bulb rated at no more than 40 W. The bulb is not supplied, and the fitting does not contain an integrated LED module. Brightness and colour temperature therefore depend on the lamp you choose. Its shape also matters visually because the bulb stands in front of the glass layers rather than being concealed.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps. If you want brightness control, select a bulb and control system that are compatible with each other; an E14 base by itself does not establish dimming capability. Rene is a mains-powered Class I fitting specified for 220–240 V.
