The Sande 4083GR is an outdoor spotlight in graphite-painted cast aluminium, with a ribbed body and a clear glass held in a screwed-on bezel. The head sits in a knuckle with a locking knob, and the whole thing stands on a round foot ending in a long ground spike.
How it is installed
The fixture is 19 cm tall on a 10.5 × 10.5 cm footprint and arrives with two mountings: a spike to push into the ground and a base foot for fixed installation. The spike suits a border or a lawn, the foot suits a terrace, a low wall or a façade where there is nothing to push into.
A 5 m H05RN-F 3G1 cable leaves the fixture and is terminated in a suitably chosen junction box. Those 5 metres set the radius within which you can place the spotlight relative to the nearest box. The luminaire is protection class I, so an earth conductor is required.
How much light it gives
The spotlight delivers 703 lm — slightly less than an old 60 W bulb, but concentrated into a symmetrical 40° beam, so the lit surface reads distinctly brighter than it would under diffuse light. The 2700 K colour is warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb.
A colour rendering index of Ra 90 means colours stay true under this light, which matters when you are lighting greenery, brick or a timber façade, where cheaper diodes flatten the tones. The LED is built in and cannot be replaced; the maker states a lifetime above 145,000 h.
The luminaire can be dimmed, but it needs a dimmer working in trailing-edge mode — an ordinary incandescent dimmer will not work correctly with it.
Operating conditions
An IP65 rating means dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the spotlight can stay outdoors uncovered all year. The maker gives an operating temperature range of −20 to +45 °C.
The IK08 impact class describes how much the housing withstands knocks — relevant where the fixture stands beside a path or within reach of a mower. The body is a painted aluminium casting and the cable gland is nylon 6.
