Why an interchangeable ring

NUMINOS is a modular system: the same fitting – downlight or spotlight – comes in many variants of power, colour, beam angle and control. The front ring is the part you see from below, and the only one that can be swapped without touching the fitting itself.

That opens two possibilities. First, matching the trim colour to the ceiling – a white ring disappears into a white ceiling, a black one makes a distinct point. Second, and more important in commercial work, changing the look years later. When a ceiling is repainted or a tenant changes, you swap rings instead of whole fittings – across thirty light points the difference in cost is substantial.

For size L only

This is the key thing to check. NUMINOS comes in several sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL), and this ring fits NUMINOS L fittings only – its 9.65 cm diameter matches that size of body. A ring from another size will not enter, or will not hold.

Before ordering, check the size of the installed fitting in the documentation or on its label – the diameters of adjacent sizes are close enough that judging from below is unreliable.

Polycarbonate and 32 grams

The ring is made of polycarbonate – an impact-resistant, thermally stable plastic, which matters on a part in contact with a fitting that warms up. It weighs 32 grams, so it adds nothing to the structure and changes nothing about how the fitting mounts.

The surface is white and uniform. It is a trim part, not an optical one – it changes neither the beam angle nor the output of the fitting it is placed on.
