Stucchi 9600-2/B-ST1 is a black, surface-mounted lighting track from the MICRO system. This 2 m section has four conductors and combines an outer aluminium extrusion with an insulating PVC extrusion and copper conductors. It is a component for a lighting installation rather than a self-contained light fitting.
A low profile for surface installation
The ST1 version is designed for surface mounting. The manufacturer's drawing specifies a width of 19 mm and a height of 10.2 mm, allowing you to check both the length of the run and the profile's cross-section against the intended installation position. The straight black track remains visible after mounting; it is not a recessed version intended to disappear into a ceiling.
The manufacturer lists three screws and three wall plugs per metre as included. It also states a maximum load of 15 kg, referring explicitly to the installation instructions. That limit must therefore be considered together with the specified fixing conditions, rather than treated as an unconditional load allowance.
Build around the MICRO system
Compatibility depends on the MICRO family and the ST1 version, not simply on matching track lengths. The official product page shows feeds, connectors and accessories as separate components. Compare their complete references with the installation plan before ordering; a similar-looking track does not establish compatibility.
The track itself does not determine brightness or colour temperature. For a living room, dining area, kitchen or study, the result depends on the light modules selected and their arrangement. Without suitable light fittings, this section is not a complete room-lighting solution.
Understand the electrical ratings
The documentation distinguishes current ratings of 10 A and 1 A, each at a rated voltage of 60 V DC. These figures do not permit direct connection to a 230 V mains supply. Power provision, accessories and the allowable load of the complete installation must be assessed with the other system components.
