MEDO 60 AMBIENT is a round luminaire 60 cm across and only 9.5 cm deep, surface-mounted on a ceiling or a wall. What separates it from the rest of the MEDO series is what happens above it: part of the light is directed evenly upwards and washes the surface the fixture is screwed to. The disc then stops looking stuck to the ceiling — it appears to float below it, and the room reads as taller.
A 3000 K / 4000 K switch
Colour temperature is chosen with a physical switch on the fixture, before mounting or after taking it down: 3000 K is warm white for a reception, a private office, a waiting area or a living space; 4000 K is neutral white for offices, meeting rooms and anywhere people work on documents and screens. Switching also shifts the output slightly: 4470 lm at 3000 K and 4870 lm at 4000 K. One stocked fixture therefore covers two different scenarios — the colour decision does not have to be made at order time.
DALI 2 dimming
The fixture dims to the DALI 2 standard — the digital control protocol used in office and public-building installations. It allows each fixture to be addressed individually, combined into groups and scenes, and driven by a presence or daylight sensor. The built-in LED driver lets the fixture connect straight to 220–240 V mains; no separate driver is needed.

Installation — and conversion to a pendant
Mounting is split in two: first the base alone is screwed to the wall or ceiling, then the body of the fixture clips onto it with three clamps. Removal works the same way, without dismantling the whole thing — which, on a fixture weighing over 5 kg and measuring 60 cm across, is a practical difference rather than a catalogue detail. The manufacturer separately offers a suspension kit (including the MEDO 5 m drop in white, black and silver-grey, and kits 135250/135251/135254) that turns the same ceiling fixture into a pendant — the answer for rooms with high ceilings, where a ceiling-mounted fixture would sit too far from the working plane.
Where it works
UGR below 25 and an output near 4900 lm are office figures: open plan, meeting room, private office, reception. The indirect component also tells wherever a sense of space matters — a lobby, a hotel corridor, a sales floor. IP20 restricts it to dry rooms.
