The Teak Square Plate M is a square teak plate by Bazar Bizar, measuring 20 × 20 cm. It has rounded corners and a low raised rim all the way round, and the surface shows the natural grain in a warm honey-brown tone.
Size and what it is for
The plate is 20 × 20 cm, 2 cm high and weighs 0.45 kg. That surface takes a slice of cake, a portion of snacks or a few biscuits for afternoon tea. The rim keeps small items in place so they do not slide off when you carry it.
The manufacturer approves it for dry food only — it is not meant for dishes with sauce or anything wet. The Teak Square Plate family also comes in smaller XS and S sizes, so the plates can be stacked or served as a set.
Material and care
The plate is made of teak and was produced in Indonesia. The wood cannot go in the dishwasher, microwave or oven — wash it by hand with a soft cloth or sponge, mild soap and a little water, then dry it straight away. Soaking, harsh cleaners and abrasive pads damage the surface.
From time to time rub the plate with a food-safe oil: it keeps the colour of the wood and protects it from drying out and warping.
