SIRKEL 30 is a wall light — or a ceiling light — shaped as a steel wheel 30 cm across. Black spokes run from the central lampholder out to the rim, with no shade and no glass. The bulb stays in full view, right at the centre of the wheel.
How much room it takes and how it is mounted
The wheel is 30 cm in diameter and stands 17 cm off the surface it hangs on. Compare that depth with the width of the passage along the wall, because the fitting reaches into it with its whole shape. It weighs 0.4 kg, so the fixing asks for nothing beyond an ordinary wall plug.
The same fitting mounts on a wall and on a ceiling — the maker lists it as both. It is protection class I, which means an earth conductor has to be present in the box; on an old two-core installation that is worth checking before you buy.
Which bulb to fit
The lampholder takes an E27 thread and a bulb of up to 60 W. None is included, so colour, brightness and the shape of the glass are yours to choose — and that counts for more here than usual, because the bulb is fully visible and becomes the centre of the composition.
The steel frame hides nothing, so light spreads from the bulb in every direction; the maker describes the effect as diffused light. There is no shade and no glass to soften a bare bulb, so at eye-level mounting a frosted bulb works better than a clear one.
The SIRKEL range and the build
The body is steel finished in black, and the lamp is made in Poland. The maker builds SIRKEL wheels in three diameters — 30, 45 and 60 cm — as wall and ceiling versions and as pendants.
Those three diameters are the point of it: wheels of different sizes group on one wall into a single composition, and 30 cm is the smallest of them.
