V-TAC VT-48500 is a high-power LED floodlight made of two rectangular LED panels set in one black aluminium body on a mounting bracket. The back of the housing is a finned heat sink that carries heat away from the 500 W LED module.

How much light and how wide

The fitting draws 500 W and delivers 67,500 lm, which is 135 lm per watt. That output is meant for lighting large areas — yards, car parks, facades — rather than a single driveway. The 60° beam angle means that from 10 m away the pool of light is about 11.5 m wide, and from 20 m about 23 m.

The 4000 K colour temperature is a neutral white with no yellow tint. The colour rendering index is Ra 70, and the R9 value for red is 0 according to the EPREL registry — reds and skin tones look subdued under this light. The manufacturer declares colour consistency at 6 MacAdam steps, so two floodlights side by side may differ slightly in their shade of white. The flicker metrics Pst LM 1.0 and SVM 0.4 sit at the limits allowed in the EU.

Mounting and connection

The floodlight measures 523 × 530 mm with a depth of 65 mm and weighs 8.97 kg, so the wall, pole or structure must carry that weight plus the wind load on the flat panel surface. The bracket is fixed with screws, and loosening the side bolts lets you set the tilt of the fitting.

A 1 m cable with three cores — live, neutral and protective earth — is included, and the earth conductor must be connected. The fitting runs on 220–240 V and does not work with a dimmer.

Operating conditions and service life

The IP65 rating allows the floodlight to stay outdoors without a cover, and the IK05 impact rating protects against minor knocks but not against deliberate damage. The manufacturer states an operating range of -20 °C to +45 °C. The LEDs are built in and cannot be replaced; the manufacturer declares 30,000 hours of operation, around 27 years at three hours a day, and more than 15,000 switching cycles. The light comes on at full brightness instantly.
